Hello and Welcome to my new online store! At Pixies Clothing I am a one women brand designing and sewing unique wearable slow fashion with zero waste, using organic fabrics or deadstock fabrics and up cycling when ever possible.

 

My name is Ami or nickname Pixie, I am passionate about sewing and creating sustainable wearable slow fashion, As a self taught seamstress of 12 years, over that time I have sewn all types of fabrics, projects and garments from corsets to simple t shirts and home furnishings, to event decor, I can sew pretty much anything! After moving to Portugal I decided to pursue my dreams of building my own small business, its here I have my lovely little sewing studio where all the magic happens, I invested in an industrial overlocker and coverstitch machines that give my garments that professional touch.  

What sets Pixies clothing apart is the commitment to sustainability and understanding the importance of making responsible choices for the environment, which is why every garment is handmade using high-quality, sustainable fabrics such as GOTs approved organic cotton. I source all my fabrics in Europe to be sure they have been certified GOTs approved and Oeko~tex approved bamboo fabric, organic tencel twill and hemp, these fabrics not only feel luxurious against your skin but also have a minimal impact on the planet. I also use deadstock fabric supplies from a few companies like Recovo who sell only deadstock fabrics (read all about deadstock fabrics on one of my blogs.) 1 meter of Recovo fabric saves, on average, 293 litres of water.

Furthermore, All dyed items are meticulously coloured using Eco-friendly dyes, ensuring that no harmful chemicals are released into the environment. Any items of clothing which have been screen printed by me are made using water based inks which are eco friendly and I always follow a zero waste practice when working.
